The Church Has a Mission. Your Film Is a Catalyst.
We help turn global film releases into local ministry movements.
Soil & Story is a not-for-profit that exists to unleash the full potential of Christian film and media by igniting local Gospel momentum in places where it’s needed most. We bring long-term trusted local partnerships in over 100 nations.
Our model delivers a high-ROI global release strategy by mobilizing local Christians, pastors, and missionaries to drive awareness, attendance, and long-tail streaming revenue—giving filmmakers wider reach, deeper engagement, and significantly greater profitability than traditional distribution alone.
Translation and distribution are no longer the biggest hurdles to ministry impact, now, it’s local integration.
In a world where content is easily translated and widely distributed, local excitement and integration is the critical gap. This is where we step in! By empowering local churches, elevating indigenous voices, and activating plans that serve long-term ministry growth, we cultivate fertile soil where Gospel stories can take root and flourish across the nations – from locals, to locals.
We’re globally rooted, locally connected and Kingdom focused!
Soil & Story has a deep and robust global reach. Our teams have spent decades co‑building strategies with local churches and agency partners across more than 100 nations. Because we’re on the ground listening first, we understand the unique cultural contexts and opportunities in each place. Whether in urban centers or remote villages, help maximize initial excitement and ensure lasting ministry impact long after the credits roll.
Our Leadership Team
Geoff Peters - President/CEO
Geoff Peters is a lifelong entrepreneur and ministry strategist whose passion for innovation began early. Before the age of 30, he founded two companies, including a cross-border athletic placement platform that ultimately achieved a successful exit, and a church and ministry growth firm whose digital tools served 1,100+ churches across the U.S.
These early ventures established a pattern to build strategically, innovate boldly, and create systems that fuel sustainable growth, a focus which continued throughout his career serving Gospel work worldwide.
At Compassion International, he served as Marketing Director for global intervention programs, accountable for $200M+ in annual global revenue. While there, he created the first enterprise-wide innovation process that generated $280M in new donor revenue.
As Global Chief Marketing Officer at Operation Mobilisation, Geoff led a global marketing and creative team serving 5,000+ global ministry workers across 118 nations, while building and mentoring creative, mobilization and fundraising teams across six continents.
As Global Marketing Director at Jesus Film Project (Cru), he formed the organization’s first global brand and marketing support team, and worked with frontline ministry leaders around the world to design a 30 country, 100 language, “ministry-first” launch plan around a new animated film project.
Geoff’s career has consistently brought him alongside filmmakers, writers, videographers, and media innovators. He has collaborated on film projects, digital campaigns, and global discipleship initiatives, always with a commitment to ensuring that Gospel-centered stories resonate in the cultural and linguistic context of local communities.
Geoff and his family live in Colorado.
Sean Furlong - Chief Operating Officer
Sean brings more than 25 years of steady, behind-the-scenes ministry leadership, exactly the kind of operational wisdom that keeps a global movement healthy and moving forward. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran with a degree in leadership and intercultural studies, Sean has spent his career building systems that help ministries thrive across countries, cultures, and languages.
He served over two decades with a global mission organization, gaining hands-on experience in finance, administration, training, mobilization, business, and international team leadership. While living 12 years in Canada, he also invested deeply in local church leadership as an associate pastor.
Sean also oversaw an international publishing ministry producing prayer resources in more than 40 languages and distributing to over one million believers each year. In 2020, he launched and led the U.S. office for the Great Commission Foundation, supporting hundreds of international ministries with donor processing, accounting, and operational services.
Sean is driven by a simple passion: to see God glorified and the nations reached. His mix of operational grit, global experience, and ministry-first heart makes him a perfect fit to guide Operations & Service for Soil & Story’s global leadership team, ensuring filmmakers, ministry leaders, and local partners are supported with excellence as Gospel impact grows worldwide. Sean and his family live in Colorado.
Ewout VanOosten - Chief Ministry Officer
Ewout van Oosten brings 20 years of cross-cultural ministry experience and a powerful track record of helping local churches step into their God-given influence. For the past decade, he has built networks of churches across more than 70 nations, equipping leaders, mobilizing volunteers, and strengthening ministries that reach people far outside the walls of traditional church.
Before joining Soil & Story, Ewout lead TeenStreet International, a global Christian youth movement that gathered tens of thousands annually across multiple continents. Under his leadership, TeenStreet expanded its international footprint, strengthened national leadership teams, and built long-term discipleship pathways that continued well beyond the events themselves. He multiplied church partnerships, unified youth ministries around shared mission outcomes, and equipped local leaders to own and lead the work, reflecting his core belief that sustainable ministry grows from the ground up.
His passion is simple: unlock the potential of the local church so the Kingdom becomes visible.
That passion shaped Taste, the missional community he and his wife founded in the Netherlands and now a nationally recognized model for neighborhood transformation. Rooted in presence, listening, and shared ownership, Taste has drawn the attention of local government leaders and was even referenced in Dutch parliament as an example of how community thrives when people live out the love of Christ.
Today Ewout leads the global ministry impact efforts with Soil & Story, ensuring that every film launch is not just a media moment, but a ministry catalyst. Ewout and his family now live in Georgia, continuing their calling to build communities that make Jesus visible.
Belén Peters — Strategic Ministry Advisor
Belén Peters brings more than 20 years of global ministry leadership and a trusted voice within the Spanish-speaking church worldwide. As the former Director of Latino Church Mobilization for Scatter Global, she led partnership strategy across the Americas, guided a multinational team, and built engagement funnels that helped pastors and churches move from initial curiosity to active participation in mission. Her work strengthened long-term church relationships, deepened donor confidence, and positioned Latino leaders to step into greater global impact.
Belén’s experience is rooted in 14 years of ministry with YWAM Santiago, Chile. As a base director, she cultivated one of the region’s most extensive networks of pastors and ministry leaders and coached congregations to shift from a “receiving” mindset to a vibrant “sending” identity. Her passion to mobilize Latinos for serving among the poor, overlooked, and unreached resulted in deep ministry partnerships in places like Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, India, and Bangladesh.
Belén also founded and led Transformission Translation Services, a Colorado-based translation and transcreation firm serving ministries such as Compassion International, David C Cook, OneHope, Operation Mobilization, and others. Her ability to ensure theological clarity, cultural nuance, and message accuracy across languages gives Belén a unique edge in advising on global film-based ministry, where clarity of message and cultural resonance are essential.
Today, Belén serves as a Strategic Ministry Advisor for Soil & Story, where her cross-cultural insight, strategic instincts, and deep relational trust help ensure every film launch is built with strong local leadership, ministry-first thinking, and long-term Gospel impact. Her voice helps filmmakers and church leaders collaborate in ways that honor local context and strengthen sustainable ministry growth, so Gospel impact expands from locals, to locals.
